Dr. Marsha Boyd-Mitchell

B.Sc., M.Ed., Ed.D.

HEAD OF SCHOOLS

Has been teaching since 1998 and has served as Principal of Sussex Christian School since 2001. Marsha has a B.Sc. in Christian School Education from Kingswood University, a M.Sc in Education from Cairn University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Dr. Boyd Mitchell’s doctoral research focus was spiritual formation of adolescents who attend a Christian High School. She also serves as the Executive Director of Christian Action Federation of NB.


MRS. PAMELA ALWARD

B. Sc. In Christian School Education,
M. A. in Education, M.A. in Elementary Education

PRINCPAL

Began teaching in 1985 and currently serves as Vice-Principal Academic. Pam holds a
B. Sc. In Christian School Education, an M. A. in Education, and an M.A. in Elementary Education. She has served in administrative and classroom roles at SCS since 2001. She currently serves as Principal. Mrs. Alward’s other role as Director of the Christian School Education Program at Kingswood University adds valuable expertise to the on-going training of staff in a Christian School setting.

MRS. CONNIE MOSS

B.Ed., M.Ed.

VICE PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATION 

Has been teaching since 1985 and has served SCS in various capacities since 1987. She currently serves as Vice-Principal Administration. She earned her B.Ed. from the University of New Brunswick and completed her Master’s Degree from Cairn University with research emphasis in 21st Century math methods.

MR. ANDREW DOREY

REGISTERED BEHAVIOUR TECHNICIAN

WINGS DIRECTOR

Mr. Dorey directs the Working with Individuals Needing Guidance for Success (WINGS) program, in addition to serving as the elementary chaplain. Mr. Dorey is a Board-Certified Behaviour Technician and continues to pursue further professional development through the University of New Brunswick. In addition to his role at SCS, he is the proprietor of Dorey Behavioural Services.


MRS. NAOMI MACKAY

B.A.

DIRECTOR EARLY EDUCATION

Is our Director of Early Childhood Education and runs our Little Lights Early Learning Centre. Mrs. MacKay has a Diploma of Biblical and Theological Studies from NBBI as well as a B.A. in Christian School Education from Kingswood University. She has been involved with education for the past 10 years teaching at Christian Schools in both Portugal and Nova Scotia. Little Lights Preschool was directed and operated in Sussex by Mrs. MacKay for 8 years. Then in 2020, she partnered with SCS to form the new SCS Little Lights Early Learning Center, adding her experience in preschool education to the SCS team.


MRS. TIA Mansvelt

B.A., TESOL

INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

Mrs. Tia is the Director of International Students and Middle School Chaplain. Tia is an SCS alum (2014). She has been working in different capacities with international programs since 2018. She has received her bachelor of arts in Christian counselling at Kingswood University, and her TESOL through OnTESOL. She works with our international students, homestay program, and weekly chapel services.

MR. JONATHAN ALIPRANDI

B.R.Ed.

HIGH SCHOOL

Mr. Aliprandi started his education in the field of engineering and has always been passionate about Mathematics. He teaches in our High School department. He has earned a Bachelor of Religious Education from New Brunswick Bible Institute and Covington Theological Seminary. He also has training in trade-related fields, training in computer programming, music, basketball, and experience working with youth.

MISS JENNIFER CARRUTHERS

B.A., TESOL

HIGH SCHOOL

Teaches High School Social Studies and Middle/High School ESL. Miss Carruthers is a homeroom teacher for Grade 9. She has a depth of experience working in different cultures. Miss Carruthers is a graduate of Kingswood University and is working on a Master’s degree in Education from Cairn University.



MRS. SHERRY COWPER


B.S.(CSE)

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL

Teaches high school Math and Studio Arts. She has over 25 years teaching experience at SCS. She is a graduate of Kingswood University’s Christian School Education program, and holds a Master of Education with a focus on learning exceptionalities.


MR. JARED FRASER

B.Ed

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Jared Fraser is part of our middle school teaching team and is homeroom teacher to the Grade 6-7 class. Mr. Fraser has a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in history and political science and a minor in English Literature, as well as a Bachelor of Education in secondary social studies, English, and ESL. His breadth of education, as well as his teaching experience with public, Christian and private education both here in Canada and abroad (Bangladesh and Indonesia), are valuable assets to the SCS team. He has a calling on his life to disciple students while facilitating their education.


MRS. DEBRA GRAY

E.C.E.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Mrs. Gray is a graduate of NBCC where she received her diploma in Early Childhood Education. Her wealth of experience in early education, as well as teaching across a variety of grade and subject areas positions her well to anchor the grade 2-3 homeroom class.


MR. CALEB JONES

Dip. ABM, B. Th.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Mr. Jones is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute, earning a Diploma of Advanced Biblical Ministries, and a Bachelor of Theology through Covington Theological Seminary. After working in church ministry full-time for 3 years in Ontario, he began working as a Supply Teacher at SCS in spring 2022. This year, Caleb is teaching alongside Mrs. Gray in the 2/3 class in the morning, as well as directing our After-school program through Little Lights. He is also currently furthering his education through CSE courses at Kingswood University.

MRS. BRENDA LANDRY

B.A.(CSE)

KINDERGARTEN/ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Mrs. Landry is our Kindergarten to Grade 1 teacher. She leads her classroom with great zeal and desires every student feel valued. Mrs. Landry is a graduate of Kingswood University and taught for 9 years at Halifax Christian Academy before coming to SCS.


MRS. VICKY LEE

A.A.S. Radiography, TESOL

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Mrs. Vicky Lee is a graduate of NCACC and comes to SCS following a career in diagnostic and interventional general and cardiac imaging. Mrs. Lee has updated her education with CSE courses at Kingswood University. Mrs. Lee teaches middle school math.


MME. HEIDI MALLERY

B.A.

FRENCH K-12

Teaches French for Grades K-12. Mme. Mallery has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from St. Thomas University and is completely bilingual. She has 16 years of previous experience in Early Years Education in Sussex. Mme. Mallery continues to update her education, currently with CSE courses at Kingswood University.



MRS. SHERRY MCCALLUM

B.A.(CSE), M.Ed.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Teaches Grades 4-5. Mrs. McCallum is a graduate of Kingswood University and has finished her Master’s from Cairn University. Mrs. McCallum’s master’s research emphasis was in implementing Reader’s Theater into the elementary classroom. She is a creative, hardworking teacher who meets her students each year with enthusiasm and a new class theme.


MRS. TINA MCDONALD

B.Th., M.Ed.

HIGH SCHOOL

Mrs. McDonald is the Grade 11 homeroom teacher. She is also the Spirit Club coordinator and teaches/facilitates electives for High School students. Mrs. McDonald is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute and Covington Theological Seminary. She also has a Masters of Science in Education from Cairn University. Mrs. McDonald’s Master’s research emphasis was reading comprehension and LD students.


DR. JEFF MCINNIS

B.A., M.(Litt.), PhD.

HIGH SCHOOL

Teaches a variety of courses in the humanities and ESL. Dr. McInnis is an English Literature specialist who has earned a doctorate in English Literature from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland with a research emphasis in C.S. Lewis and George MacDonald. He is a tremendous asset in areas of ESL, History, and English.


MISS JENNIFER MORRIS

B.A. Diploma of Performing Arts

HIGH SCHOOL

Miss Jennifer Morris comes to SCS with a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University, as well as a Diploma in Performing Arts from Randolph College for the Performing Arts. she is the grade 10 homeroom teacher, giving instruction in high school theatre arts and music as well as elementary music classes. She has had countless years of experience acting and singing on stage, as well as leading worship at her local church. She is so happy to be a part of a school that incorporates the love and life of Jesus into its curriculum!


MRS. JULIE BROWN-ROBICHAUD

B.A., B.Ed.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Mrs. Brown-Robichaud is the Grade 7 - 8 homeroom teacher. She completed her first Bachelor's Degree at (ABU) Crandall University in English. After homeschooling for 13 years, she returned to Crandall University and completed her Bachelor of Education degree and French Immersion Education Certificate. She loves sharing her love of education with her students.


MRS. KATHYE WILSON

B.S.(CSE), M.Ed., Ed.D.(Student)

HIGH SCHOOL

Is the homeroom teacher for grade 12. She teaches high school English. Mrs. Wilson is also the Duke of Edinburgh staff representative. She is a graduate of Kingswood University and has completed a Master’s of Education from Cairn University with a research emphasis in the Socratic Method. Mrs. Wilson is currently working on her doctorate from Liberty University.



REV. MARK WORTH

B.A. , M.Ed.

MIDDLE SCHOOL/ HIGH SCHOOL CHAPLIN

Teaches high school Bible and Phys. Ed classes and serves as high school chaplain. Mr. Worth is a graduate of Kingswood University and has completed a Master’s of Education degree from Cairn University with a research emphasis on spiritual formation in the classroom. Mr. Worth is also lead pastor at Penobsquis Baptist Church.

MRS. JODY BROWN-WILSON

ED SUPPORT

Mrs. Brown-Wilson acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in 2001 from Crandall University. Mrs. Brown-Wilson has been working at SCS since 2018 providing support to students and teachers as needed. She is currently taking a photography course through the New York Institute of Photography.

MRS. LORA CARTER

ADJUNT FACULTY

Culinary Teacher . After several years of home-schooling, Mrs. Carter and her husband, Jason, chose to enroll their three daughters in Sussex Christian School. Lora has her own home-based baking business, and as such, has her food-handling certification. Her skills in the kitchen have made her a valuable asset to the school. Mrs. Carter also teaches elementary phys ed. and assists in extracurricular athletic activities.



REV.,DR. JOHN CARROLL

D.Min.

ADJUNT FACULTY

Pastor Carroll studied at Acadia University and Acadia Divinity School from 1975-1981 (B.A. B.Th, M.Div.). He was in full time church ministry from 1981-2005. In 2005 he earned D. Min. in preaching from Gordon Conwell. We are pleased to have Dr. Carroll teaching a bible based worldview course to our oldest high school students.



MRS. ANNE GRAHAM

B.A.(Psychology),M.A.(Applied Psychology), L.P.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Works in a part time role at SCS to provide private office hours and consultation to administration. Over the past twenty years Anne has worked with children, adolescents, and their families in various capacities. Anne has a BA in Psychology, MA in Applied Psychology and is licensed with the college of applied psychologists of NB.



MRS. VICKI GRAHAM

Mrs. Graham has worked in our office since 2001 and faithfully continues to anchor the SCS office as it has expanded over the years. Known around the school as “Mama Vick” she is the unofficial SCS matriarch. These days she also enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren.




MR. MATTHEW HANSON


SCHOOL SUPPORT

Matthew Hanson is a former marketing student from NBCC and current marketing director for the #ClimbHigher campaign. Captivated by imagination, Matthew cannot help but get excited about creating things for people. Whether it is strategy, graphics or videos, Matt gets excited to see a vision through to completion. He's excited to work on future campaigns for CAFNB.

MRS. DENISE KINGSLEY


OFFICE PERSONNEL

Mrs. Kingsley was an insurance broker in Ontario for 10 years before moving to New Brunswick in 2017. She has always been involved with teaching children in Sunday School and has a desire to see young people grow in Christ. She brings tremendous administrative skills to the SCS office on a part time basis.


MRS. LISA MACCALLUM

WINGS

Lisa is a graduate of Kingswood University and holds a B.A. in Christian Education. She has been working in the WINGS Program since 2018 providing one on one assistance to a variety of students. Mrs. MacCallum also contributes to the middle school drama by co-writing and co-directing the fall plays.

MR. PRESTON MOWRY

ADJUNT FACULTY

Teaches Computer Technology to Grade 9 and Computer Science to Grade 11. Mr. Mowry is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute . He is a former youth Pastor (Sheffield Baptist, Halifax NS) and currently serves as a Senior Pastor at the Hatfield Point and Belleisle Creek Baptist Churches.

MISS BETHANY RICKETSON

WINGS

Bethany Ricketson works in the WINGS program as an Educational Mentor. She attended Faith Bible College International in Charleston, Maine to obtain a Bachelor of Theological Studies with a minor in Christian Education. She wants to help children learn and grow in their God given potential at Sussex Christian School.
