Principal
Has been teaching since 1998 and has served as Principal of Sussex Christian School since 2001. Marsha has a B.Sc. in Christian School Education from Kingswood University, a M.Sc in Education from Cairn University and an Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Dr. Boyd Mitchell’s doctoral research focus was spiritual formation of adolescents who attend a Christian High School. She also serves as the Executive Director of Christian Action Federation of NB.

High School Math
Has been teaching since 1985 and has served SCS in various capacities since 1987. She currently serves as Vice-Principal Administration and teaches in the High School Math department. She earned her B.Ed. from the University of New Brunswick and completed her Master’s Degree from Cairn University with research emphasis in 21st Century math methods.
Head Teacher &
Co-homeroom Grades 7-8
Began teaching in 1985 and currently serves as SCS Head Teacher. She is also a mentor and a coach to new and existing staff. Pam holds two Master’s Degrees in education one from Pensacola Christian College (Elementary Education) and the other from University of New Brunswick (Educational Foundations). She has been teaching at SCS since 2002. Mrs. Alward is also the program director for Christian School Education at Kingswood University.
High School
Teaches High School Social Studies and Middle/High School ESL. Miss Carruthers is a homeroom teacher for Grade 10. She has a depth of experience working in different cultures. Miss Carruthers is a graduate of Kingswood University and is working on a Master’s degree in Education from Cairn University.
HIGH SCHOOL
Teaches High School Math and Sciences. Mr. Cowper is the Support Teacher for our online reports and curriculum, as well as the homeroom teacher for Grade 11. He will be the teacher advisor for the Science and Math focused students. Mr. Cowper holds a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from the University of New Brunswick. He also has a Master’s of Education degree from Liberty University.
WINGS DIRECTOR
Mr. Dorey directs the Working with Individuals Needing Guidance for Success (WINGS) program, in addition to serving as the elementary chaplain and teaching elementary music. Mr. Dorey is a Board-Certified Behaviour Technician and continues to pursue further professional development through the University of New Brunswick. In addition to his role at SCS, Mr. Dorey is the children’s pastor at Encounter Church and the proprietor of Dorey Behavioural Services.

HIGH SCHOOL & ESL
Mrs. Jones served as elementary school Vice Principal and teacher for 12 years, returning this year after an eight year hiatus. Mrs. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major (English & Psychology) and minor in history from Acadia University. Also a Bachelor of Education with a major in Special Education (Remedial Reading) and a Masters in Communication Disorders (Speech/Language Pathology) from University of Maine. Mrs. Jones is known for her great stories and enthusiasm for student success.
School Psychologist
Works in a part time role at SCS to provide private office hours, classroom time with students and consultation to administration. Over the past twenty years Anne has worked with children, adolescents, and their families in various capacities. Anne has a BA in Psychology, MA in Applied Psychology and is licensed with the college of applied psychologists of NB.

Elementary School
Teaches Grade 6. Miss Lee is an alumna of Sussex Christian School. She has earned her B.A. in Christian School Education from Kingswood University and her M.Ed. from Cairn University with a research emphasis in Autism Inclusion. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree from Liberty University. Miss Lee brings creativity and enthusiasm to the upper elementary classroom. She provides support to the SCS office/administration as well as a Google Classroom coach to her peers.
Elementary School
Teaches Grades 4-5. Mrs. McCallum is a graduate of Kingswood University and has finished her Master’s from Cairn University. Mrs. McCallum’s master’s research emphasis was in implementing Reader’s Theater into the elementary classroom. She is a creative, hardworking teacher who meets her students each year with enthusiasm and a new class theme.

Mrs. Tina McDonald is one of our grade 10 homeroom teachers; she is also our Athletic Director, Spirit Club coordinator and teaches/facilitates electives for High School students. Mrs. McDonald is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute and Covington Theological Seminary. She also has a Masters of Science in Education from Cairn University. Mrs. McDonald’s Master’s research emphasis was reading comprehension and LD students.
High School
Teaches a variety of courses in the humanities and ESL. He is also the Grade 9 homeroom teacher. Dr. McInnis is an English Literature specialist who has earned a doctorate in English Literature from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland with a research emphasis in C.S. Lewis and George MacDonald. He is a tremendous asset in areas of ESL, History, and English.
Elementary School
Teaches Grades 2-3. Mrs. McVicar comes with a career of supply teaching and children’s ministry in the life of the church. She serves as “first lady” at Havelock Wesleyan Church alongside husband Glenn. Mrs. McVicar is a graduate of Kingswood University where she earned her B.S. in Christian School Education.
HIGH School
Miss Jennifer Morris comes to SCS with a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University, as well as a Diploma in Performing Arts from Randolph College for the Performing Arts. She teaches high school Music and Dramatic Arts, as well as directs the spring performance. She has had countless years of experience acting and singing on stage, as well as leading worship at her local church. She is so happy to be a part of a school that incorporates the love and life of Jesus into its curriculum!
FRENCH K-12
Teaches French for Grades K-12. Mme. Peddle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from St. Thomas University and is completely bilingual. She has 16 years of previous experience in Early Years Education in Sussex. MME. Peddle continues to update her education, currently with CSE courses at Kingswood University.
High School
Teaches High School English, Math and is the teacher advisor for humanities- focused students. Mrs. Wilson is also the Duke of Edinburgh staff representative. She is a graduate of Kingswood University and has completed a Master’s of Education from Cairn University with a research emphasis in the Socratic Method. Mrs. Wilson is currently working on her doctorate from Liberty University.
High School
Rhoda grew up in Moncton and she spent a few years working as an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of The Moncton Hospital. Rhoda left her position there and enrolled in a Bachelor of Science Program at Mount Allison University where she graduated with a degree in Chemistry. This was followed by a year of Heart research working under the direction of Dr. William Driedzic and then by a one-year Education program offered at Mount Allison University. Rhoda worked on her third degree and graduated in 2006 from the University of Phoenix with a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. Rhoda moved to Sussex in 1986 to become the Chemistry teacher at Sussex Regional High School. Throughout her teaching career in public school, Rhoda taught a variety of courses; and before she retired from public school, she was teaching technology to Grade 9 students.

Mrs. Mowry’s education background includes LPN training and a Diploma of Biblical & Theological Studies from New Brunswick Bible Institute. She has been active as a volunteer teacher for children in church and camp settings since her teens. She joined the staff of Little Lights Preschool in 2014 as an Educator and Assistant. Since then she has taken two online courses related to Early Childhood Education.
Mr. McVicar is a Graduate of NBCC where he received his certificate in Human Services. In addition Aaron graduated from Kingswood University where he graduated with a B.A. in ministry with a double minor in Christian Counselling and Children’s Ministry. He is also the assistant pastor at Center Point Wesleyan Church. When he is not working he can be found cheering on his two favourite teams the Cleveland Browns and the Montreal Canadiens.
ED TECH
Mrs. Brillinger interned at SCS for the 2019-20 school year working primarily with the elementary department. She currently works as an EdTech and assists in all things technology related. She is also the social media coordinator. Mrs. Brillinger earned her Bachelor’s of Religious Education from New Brunswick Bible Institute and Covington Theological Seminary.

High School Educational Assistant and Culinary Teacher. After several years of home-schooling, Mrs. Carter and her husband, Jason, chose to enroll their three daughters in Sussex Christian School. Lora has her own home-based baking business, and as such, has her food-handling certification. Her skills in the kitchen have made her a valuable asset to the school. Mrs. Carter also serves as an educational assistant in the high school department.
Adjunct Faculty
Pastor Carroll studied at Acadia University and Acadia Divinity School from 1975-1981 (B.A. B.Th, M.Div.). He was in full time church ministry from 1981-2005. In 2005 he earned D. Min. in preaching from Gordon Conwell. We are pleased to have Dr. Carroll teaching a bible based worldview course to our oldest high school students.

Lisa is a graduate of Kingswood University and holds a B.A. in Christian Education. She has been working in the WINGS Program since 2018 providing one on one assistance to a variety of students. Mrs. MacCallum also contributes to the middle school drama by co-writing and co-directing the fall plays.

Administration assistant. Mrs. Taylor and her husband have been career missionaries, having spent twelve years in Haiti and four in Africa (Rwanda and Swaziland). Previously, Pat was the secretary for SCS and Sussex Wesleyan Church for seven years before going to Africa. She now offers her time to the school once a week to assist the Administration of the school in whatever capacity needed.
WINGS/LUNCH COORDINATOR
Mrs. Williamson is originally from British Columbia but has lived in Sussex since 2005. She has been with SCS in various volunteer and supporting staff roles over the past 5 years. Mrs. Williamson works with the WINGS department, lunch delivery program, and COVID-19 sanitation protocols. Currently, she is working on a general studies Bachelor's degree from Athabasca University, with a focus on education.
